Mongolia is an amazing place to visit. Most people do the tourist thing in the summer but not us. We chose almost the coldest time of the year to visit. Coming from the UK where we are all complaining about temperatures of -100C, its amazing to step out of the airport in Ulaanbaatar at -240C even though we are on the same latitude as France!
Four of the ten days were spent living in a Ger (what the Turks call a Yurt) which is a large round tent with a stove in the middle. The thermostat is a little difficult to set so you’d be stripped to your pants when the fire is blazing in the evening and then snuggled deep in your sleeping bag as the fire died overnight.
The next trip is scheduled to be in Vietnam at the end of January so I’ll have a few more pics and clips from there soon.
Here’s to a great 2010 and I wish you all health and happiness.
